My dearly beloved loves red meat also but he usually bbq's it. Patty's ideas are good. When you are up to it cook in quantity. I cook two whole turkey breasts at one time and put them in small packages in the freezer for sandwiches.

Also, you can add some protein by cooking dry beans like pinto, navy, lima, black eyed peas. Do big potfuls so you can take a container to work to nuke. They freeze well. And buy canned garbanzos to add to salads. They are high in protein. I like them heated and mixed with cooked rice with a tsp. of oil, pinch of onion powder. Makes a hearty easy meal.

Also fat free canned refried beans are good in 98% fat free tortillas (brand name Diane's). I chop up some chicken and add it to the refried beans. I buy shredded fat free cheddar cheese and sprinkle that on along with salsa. Yum. I got to thinking about all this after I wrote earlier. It can be tough at first but as time goes on you learn to think differently or get desperate enough and soon it is not so hard to think of good for you alternatives to "bad" foods. Best, Margie
