I'm battling mild depression and have been encouraged by my family doctor to take St. John's Wort. Does anyone know how Dr. Swank feels about taking this? I know that the book does not encourage taking mood altering drugs, but I need some help to get over the top of these "blues". I do take valium at night to help me sleep and sometimes during the day when symptoms are flaring up.
Also, does anyone know his feelings on taking glucosamine? (Not sure of spelling, sorry!) I think that this is supposed to help with joint pain in others. Does it help us???
