Exercise questions

Friends--
I'm back. I haven't been on the board for awhile. It's SO GREAT to have this when we need it! I'm under some extra stress--trying progesterone cream for hormonal changes, trying to find a new job, etc. (It's really emotionally hard to look for a job. I'm new to the area and was VERY hurt by my last employer's attitude toward me when he found I had MS. He saw it as a weakness that could build his ego. I was his "target" when he needed to feel power.) But am feeling I really should try to exercise. I've been on the diet almost 7 years, but have exercised almost zilch. My muscle tone is pathetic. I would really like to shape up. Any advice as to how to begin? I want to do this gradually and carefully as I do realize that I am under a significant amount of stress emotionally and physically already. This is LONG overdo, however, and wonder if careful, consistent exercise might not help with some of the emotional stress. Ideas? How long before I will see improvement? I am expecting a lot of sore muscles as I have a lot of soreness anyway.
