: Hello: I was dx'ed in 95 and have been on diet since then. I was very weak and in bed most of the time at first. After a year on diet I slowly began to gain ground and each year have gotten better. I look fine and I'm thankful for how well I am now.
: My son was hurt because I was very ill when his son was young so I couldn't do much with him. Fatigue was very bad. I can do more, but even now, I must be sensible about rest, how far I push it, etc. He wants me to be like the other grandma who doesn't have MS. I've tried to explain to him that I have to pay attention to how I feel and do what Dr. Swank told me to do.
: My son is 33, an only child who had all my over zealous attention way back when, and wants that super mom for his son. I think I do pretty darn good. I've built him a toy chest and made him puzzles and play checkers and take him to the park, but it is seemingly not enough. I've run into this with my mother in law who got very angry when I didn't continue to wait on her hand and foot like in the old days.
: Is this a common problem? I just had a flare up totally due to my son verbally nailing me to the wall about my rating as a grandma. It really stressed me out. So now I'm feeling less good than usual and they'll be here for an early Christmas. I just got orders from the neuro to rest about 75% of the day and not be stressed. So this will only make me look worse. Any suggestions besides tar and feathers? Thanks, Margie
I guess your son has difficulty counting his blessings. I am about your son's age and was just dxd w/ MS 6 months ago. I don't know I have started and erased this next sentence 4x already. Has your son always show selfish tendencies? I don't get it if anything good comes out of MS it's appreciation for those around you and GRATITUDE for all that you have. If we are ever lucky enough to have or adopt children I would be so grateful for a grandparent in their life that would make them a toy or two. Sounds like your an ace in the granny dept! Stay the heck away from stressful situations and let the healthy people take care of themselves. You just watch your health.:) Best wishes for a stress free holiday season. Nicole
